Yard Strategy
From time to time there are outbreaks of equine diseases, some highly contagious, for example Strangles, Equine Influenza, Equine Herpes or Ringworm. We are very happy to discuss yard strategy for prevention and management of contagious diseases with our clients and yard managers. As always, prevention is better than cure, and we aim to help you develop an effective and easy to follow strategy for biosecurity, new horses coming on to the yard, horses coming and going for competitions etc., monitoring for contagious disease and vaccine programmes. We also run a group for all the equine practices in the area to allow discussion of management of contagious diseases in yard situations in attempt to avoid confusion when different practices offer apparently differing advice.
